HET PROFIEL VAN DE ARTS
Dr. Borko Đorđević is al vele jaren een bekend arts op zijn gebied. Dr. Đorđević heeft altijd aan de top gestaan met de nieuwste behandelingen in cosmetische en reconstructieve chirurgie. Met het certificaat van de American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery en als lid van de American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) heeft Dr. Đorđević zich in algemene plastische chirurgie gespecialiseerd, maar ook in esthetische en reconstrucieve chirurgie, o.a. facelift, rhynoplastiek, blepharoplastiek, chemische peeling, bortsvergroting en -verkleining, handen, voeten, verkleining en correctie van heupen en buikwand, liposuctie en correctie en reconstructie van de genitaliën.
OPLEIDINGEN
Dr. Đorđević heeft als chef van de kandidaat-specialisten in plastische en reconstructieve chirurgie, chirurgie van handen, voeten en genitaliën en cosmetische chirurgie in het ziekenhuis Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio gewerkt. Hij heeft zijn opleiding aan bekende instituties, zoals Stanford en Northwestern University voortgezet. Geinteresseerd in het leren van nieuwe technieken, heeft hij samen met enkele wereldberoemde chirurgen aan internationale symposia deelgenomen. Dr. Đorđević heeft ook artikelen in talrijke boeken en medische tijdschriften gepubliceerd.
Dr. Đorđević was docent in Plastische en reconstructieve chirurgie aan de Medische faculteit van de Universiteit in Belgrado. Hij was correspondent - redacteur van het universitaire tijdschrift voor medisch onderzoek en leider van het opleidingsprogramma van kandidaat-specialisten in cosmetische chirurgie (Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship Training Program). In 1994 werd hij speciaal aangesteld door de Amerikaanse ex-president Jimmy Carter om het Carter Center in Atlanta, Georgia te helpen bij hun pogingen om de vrede in Bosnië en Joegoslavië te herstellen en hij is persoonlijk verantwoordelijk voor het bezoek van Carter aan Bosnië.
INZET
In de eerste plaats vindt Dr. Đorđević het zeer belangrijk met zijn patiënten te communiceren om hun doelen en wensen in verband met de operatie te begrijpen. Hij is ervan overtuigd dat het van groot belang is de geestelijke, maar ook de lichamelijke toestand van de patiënt te leren kennen. “Vòòr de operatie moet de grondmotivering van de patiënt/e besproken worden,” legt hij uit. “Bijvoorbeeld, als iemand een familielid verloren heeft, als een vrouw haar man verliest, dan probeert ze een manier te vinden om zich beter te voelen. Maar de operatie, hoe goed hij ook slaagt, zal de werkelijke oorzaak van het probleem niet wegnemen. Als zij zich echter bij haar verlies neerlegt, kan de operatie een heel positief effect hebben”.
De technieken van Dr. Đorđević zijn tot in de perfectie uitgewerkt. Nadat hij onlangs vier jaar in zijn geboorteland Joegoslavië verbleef, waar hij oorlogsslachtoffers hielp en onder de primitiefste omstandigheden opereerde, is zijn hand nog gevoeliger en precieser geworden. Het werk in crisisomstandigheden, met grote risico’s, heeft zijn deskundigheid en handigheid tot de uiterste grenzen gebracht. Het gevolg daarvan is, dat hij er nu in slaagt in minder tijd meer te bereiken en dat hij geleerd heeft, de herstelperiode van zijn patiënten nog verder te verkorten.
